After a successful laünchbergabe early this month attended by many hortonauts, our parcels are happily orbiting the Oberfeld planet and positively evolving.
After the go ahead by the TOM (Treasurer Oberfeld Manager) we have commissioned a few new subsystems:
- There is a new water-proof box under our yellow chair (strong heritage from previous missions). In the box one can found several paris of gardening gloves, a knife and several small tools from the Kleingarten (scissors, shovel) and a paper copy of what is planted on each row.
- We have installed four wooden structures to support the pea plants (assuming they were not destroyed today by the strong solar winds).
- Beside the four tomato plants and the three zucchini plants planted the first week (which seem to have survived the very cold first week), we have a few new rows with the additional stuff provided by the Oberfeld: fencheln, onions, salad and kohlrabi.
Contrary to the previous launch last year, we have barely no anomalies. Our parcel is pretty clean, compared to the average, and we are keeping weeds under control (on the front part of the parcel, there was still some work to do on the back part, at least last week). The kartoffelkäfer didn't show up yet in our plots (but we are ready to fight them) and most of our plans look great!

| Happy "hacken" and weeding! |
And most important is that we are already producing science data! There are stuff to collect: the spinach taste great, there are plenty of radish (some of them quiet spicy) and salads can also be collected. Anything else? Am I missing here that can be collected already?
There is little space left, but probably enough for one or two plants more. What would you like to see there? We have started a poll to find out what is the preferred option and we can try to implement it in the next weeks.

PS: As some people are not in the Whatsapp group, it would be nice to add to the blog about one report per month. Any volunteer to help to update the blog from time to time with news from the Oberfeld?
